Expressive Arts -Based Psychotherapy

Tailored to Your Journey

At River Birch Therapy, our mission is to provide compassionate, integrative psychotherapy that supports individuals and families navigating grief & loss, medical illness and trauma. Rooted in creativity and informed by a whole- person approach, we combine expressive arts-based psychotherapy with trauma-informed care to foster healing, resilience, and personal transformation. We believe in the power of creative expression and emotional support to help individuals move through their pain and emerge with greater strength, peace, and clarity.

Hello, I’m Erin Brazill,

the Founder of River Birch Therapy, and I’m so glad you’re here.

I believe that healing is a deeply personal and collective experience. Experiences of grief, loss and illness can feel isolating, overwhelming, and at times, unmanageable. These lived experiences shape our identities, challenge our relationships, and shift the course of our lives. At the same time, these experiences are part of a larger human story.

I know because I’ve spent more 25 years of practice in the fields of psychology, art therapy and clinical social work. I’ve had the privilege of helping children, adolescents and adults navigate the complex and often painful emotional terrain of loss and illness. My journey as both a therapist and someone who has personally experienced the life-changing effects of grief, loss and diagnosed with bone cancer as a young adult, has shaped the way I approach healing. It also ignited my passion for combining expressive arts therapy with traditional psychotherapy to help others heal in ways that honor their unique experiences.

We are here to support you every step of the way. Together, we will honor your story, nurture your healing, and empower you to move forward with hope.

Our Values

COMPASSIONATE CARE

We approach every individual with empathy and kindness, creating a safe, non-judgmental space where healing can unfold. Compassion is the foundation of every interaction, ensuring clients feel seen, heard, and understood.

HOLISTIC HEALING

Healing is not just about the mind; it involves the entire person—emotions, body, and spirit. We use a comprehensive, integrative approach that addresses the whole person, combining psychotherapy, expressive arts, and mindfulness techniques to foster balance and well-being.

CONNECTION

We value the power of connection—both in the therapeutic relationship and in the broader sense of human connection. Whether through art, conversation, or shared experiences, we believe that true healing comes when we connect with others and ourselves in meaningful ways.

RESILIENCE

Resilience is a core belief in our practice. Life’s challenges can feel overwhelming, but we every individual recognize and cultivate their inner strength, enabling them to navigate grief, trauma, and illness with courage and hope.
